Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) is now one of 418 companies across 45 countries and regions to join the 2022 Bloomberg Gender-Equality Index (GEI), a modified market capitalization-weighted index that aims to track the performance of public companies committed to transparency in gender data reporting. This is a testament to our commitment to ensuring equal opportunity, diversity in the workplace, and focus on human development.
The GEI reference index measures gender equality across five pillars: female leadership and talent pipeline, equal pay and gender pay parity, inclusive culture, anti-sexual harassment policies, and pro-women brand. The 2022 GEI expands globally to represent 45 countries and regions, including firms headquartered in Colombia and Uruguay for the first time. Member companies represent a variety of sectors, including financials, technology, and utilities, which collectively have the highest company representation on the index.
TCS remains true to its pledge of being an equal opportunity employer, embracing diversity in race, nationality, ethnicity, gender, age, physical ability, neurodiversity, and sexual orientation. Going forward, TCS aims to improve its GEI rank year on year and ensure its standing as a global organization that promotes gender equality.
As an organization, we believe in creating a resilient culture by embracing human values. Our focus now is on building capacity for emotional intelligence; embodying self-awareness, compassion, and sensitivity; and demonstrating awareness of personal impact and accountability through actions that are good for self, others, and the organization. We are very proud of our inclusion in the Bloomberg GEI, as it reinforces our continued commitment to promote gender equity and equality. At TCS, our endeavour is to provide an ecosystem that empowers women across levels and enables them to realize their true potential.
