Celebrating teachers
Team TCS Teachers was created in 2018 to celebrate the transformational impact of educators alongside the 50th anniversary of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS).
That year, 50 teachers from across the US were awarded an entry to the TCS New York City Marathon, the world’s largest marathon but one of the most difficult to gain access.
In 2024, Team TCS Teachers featured nearly 100 teachers running five of the most notable marathons in three countries. Since 2018, nearly 350 teachers have run with Team TCS.

Supporting educators
While it was intended to be a one-year program, Team TCS Teachers aligned so well with the core values of our company that we made it an annual feature.
Supporting educators around the world is a core value of TCS because teachers are powerful voices in the lives of future generations. Like teachers, TCS knows the importance of inspiring and training scientists and engineers of tomorrow.
According to the World Economic Forum, 65% of today’s students will end up in careers that don’t exist yet. This means schools are doing their best to prepare children for 21st-century careers without a complete understanding of the next decade’s in-demand jobs.
TCS strives to help teachers prepare for this monumental shift by offering STEM education resources through our flagship programs goIT and Ignite My Future in School.

Teachers deserve to be honored and celebrated for what they do in the classrooms and for their community contributions.
They not only prepare students for their careers, but also mold them into becoming responsible adults.
At TCS, we believe that teachers deserve to be honored for building greater futures for all of us. We also believe that marathons have the power to transform lives and communities in the same way that technology transforms businesses. Inviting teachers to run on the streets of New York City, London, Toronto, Boston, and Chicago as VIP guests of TCS is a small way to thank them.
The community formed by Team TCS Teachers, past and present, is inspiring. In addition to a VIP race experience with TCS, they gain so much more by way of the friendships they build with one another and with us.
Leaders of change
The Team TCS Teachers contest is growing, with no plans to slow down.
2023 was a banner year that featured our largest cohort of Team TCS Teachers in North America to date, with more than 80 winners and the program’s expansion to the UK. The contest returned for its sixth edition in 2024, with over a 1,000 applicants vying for a spot in one of our sponsored races. In 2022, our first-ever elite athlete, Susanna Sullivan, joined the group. She may represent the US in the marathon at the World Championships one day and teach math to sixth graders the next.
Ultimately, we hope to expand Team TCS Teachers to all of our sponsored marathons.
If students are the future, teachers lead the charge—in the classroom, around the track, and on 26.2 miles of city streets.

Megan Wright
Megan has been with TCS since 2016. She oversees runner services across all North America sponsorships, including the TCS New York City Marathon, TCS Toronto Waterfront Marathon, Chicago Marathon, and Boston Marathon. During her time in this role, she has revamped the runner experience to make for a first-class experience for Team TCS Run Club members. Team TCS Teachers is a core group of the Club. Megan oversees and has fostered this group since its’ inception in 2018.
