Bando: Hello. I'm Bando, in charge of TCS Pace Port™ Tokyo. I'd like to introduce various topics from the perspective of TCS Pace Port Tokyo, but first I'd like to introduce TCS Pace Port itself.
Takizawa: I'm Takizawa from TCS Pace Port Tokyo. As the name suggests, TCS Pace Port Tokyo is a "port" that creates innovation by accompanying our customers on their journey (PACE) . It functions as a co-creation innovation hub and provides comprehensive support to domestic and international customers, from consulting to design and implementation. We support our customers by clarifying their issues or discovering potential issues, using cutting-edge technology to design solutions that solve those issues, and quickly building and verifying them.
Takizawa: The global situation has changed dramatically due to the pandemic, but our commitment to supporting our customers in terms of creating innovation remains unchanged. However, the way we interact with customers has changed significantly. There are many challenges compared to the past, when the value was in having customers physically come and experience the functions of each module at TCS Pace Port Tokyo. We are currently focusing on efforts to enable flexible use regardless of the customer's location.
Bando: Specifically, we have been working to make all four stages of innovation creation proposed by TCS Pace Port Tokyo digital. For example, one of the digital experiences we added to the Discover stage is a "virtual tour." In this experience, a robot visits TCS Pace Port Tokyo on behalf of customers and tours each space. Customers can actually operate the robot remotely and converse with it in real time, so they can "experience" it as if they were visiting the facility themselves.
The content of case studies and discussions can be the same online. We prepare an agenda based on the client's issues and requests and hold the meetings on online meeting tools such as Microsoft Teams. We also support interactive workshops using online collaboration tools such as Miro.
Takizawa: We currently have five Pace Ports worldwide . We support our customers in creating and realizing innovation, just like in Tokyo, but we are also facing a changing phase due to the COVID-19 pandemic. With the lockdown, TCS Pace Port New York has focused more than ever on online activities instead of physical visits. TCS Pace Port Amsterdam has begun co-creation with customers in the form of an online-based soft launch. Each port has created a virtual tour taken with a 360-degree camera and is conducting the tour on the site. In addition, five Pace Ports around the world, including Tokyo, were in charge of curating TCS's important annual event for European and American customers, the Digital Innovation Forum , which was held from June to September, and provided customers with insights into TCS's cutting-edge research and development. We are constantly exploring new ways to support our customers in the new normal era .
Traditionally, customers would visit TCS Pace Ports and even travel to India to experience the power of TCS in our best-in-class cutting-edge technology showcases and industry-specific labs. We have taken a more hands-on approach to engaging with customers through ongoing experiences. However, we are now taking a new approach.
Bando: We will continue to monitor the social situation due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but we will continue to listen to our customers' requests and, if possible, consider combining small-group (in-person) sessions with digital sessions. As an example of how we are enhancing our online environment, we are also preparing a cloud-based testing environment, and are working to make PoC and prototype construction faster than ever before. We hope you will continue to rely on TCS Pace Port Tokyo.
Bando: As a " virtual tour " video, we created a video that takes you around each space of TCS Pace Port Tokyo, along with the innovation creation stage. Although it's not possible to experience operating a robot or having a real-time conversation, we wanted to convey the atmosphere of TCS Pace Port, so we filmed the video ourselves, added audio, and produced it as a team. Please take a look!
