Tata Consultancy Services Recognized for 4th Consecutive Year in Points of Light’s Civic 50 and as Technology Sector Leader for 3rd Consecutive Year
NEW YORK | MUMBAI, June 10, 2020: Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) (BSE: 532540, NSE: TCS), a leading global IT services, consulting and business solutions organization, has been recognized as Technology Sector Leader and as one of Civic 50’s America’s 50 Most Community Minded Information Technology Companies. TCS has been named the Technology Sector Leader for the third year and included in the Civic 50 list for the fourth consecutive year.

The Civic 50, an initiative of Points of Light, recognizes the 50 most community-minded companies in the nation each year as determined by an annual survey. TCS was honored by Points of Light for the investment, integration, institutionalization and impact of its community engagement programs. In response to the needs arising out of the COVID-19 pandemic, Tata Group and Tata Trusts committed to a $200 Million contribution through a coordinated, multi-prong approach. In addition to supporting this investment, TCS is leveraging its intellectual, technology, human and financial capital to support community needs across four streams:
Supporting Healthcare & Wellness: With efforts ranging from using AI to accelerate drug discovery, designing affordable PPE kits and ventilators, patient tracker systems, radiology analysis, wearable based monitors, contact tracing, self-assessment and more.
Providing Continued Access to Education: Over 7,500 institutions are using the virtual learning platform TCS GlassroomTM and 15,000+ students are utilizing the digital certification program TCS iON Career Edge for free during this period. TCS’ flagship community programs goIT and Ignite My Future in School (IMFIS) are also supporting the needs of students, educators, guardians and schools by shifting to a virtual model.
Developing Innovative New Technology Solutions: TCS is delivering technology solutions and offering pro-bono services to nonprofits, community organizations, and government agencies – such as supporting unemployment claim processing in NY state and engaging 900+ cross-sector leaders during a three-part virtual event series as part of of its Digital Empowers partnership with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation.
Supporting the Local Community: TCS is supporting the efforts and generosity of its 45,000+ North America employees during the pandemic by matching their generous donations and supporting their volunteering on the front-line.
Since 2009, over 30,000 students throughout the United States and Canada in 101 cities have benefited from TCS goIT, a signature community engagement program in North America. goIT helps students design human-centered solutions that harness technologies for innovation, while blending design thinking and industry expertise to provide students with the 21st century skills necessary to create technology for social good. Of the students engaged last year alone, approximately 45 percent of the students were girls.
TCS and Discovery Education’s IMFIS program has empowered 11,625+ teachers using a transdisciplinary approach to integrate computational thinking into every subject, reaching over 673,415 students since September 2017.
