TCS wins CII Award for Best Patents Portfolio

Tata Consultancy Services Recognized for its Investments in Intellectual Property Across Multiple Domains Over the Last Five Years

MUMBAI, October 23, 2018: Tata Consultancy Services, (TCS), (BSE: 532540, NSE: TCS) a leading IT services, consulting, and business solutions organization, won an award for the Best Patents Portfolio (2013-2018) in the Large (Engineering) Industries category at the CII Industrial Intellectual Property (IP) Awards 2018.

These awards have been instituted by the Confederation of Indian Industry to encourage organizations to foster a culture of intellectual property management and commercialization, and to recognize and celebrate Indian enterprises which demonstrate excellence in IP generation and protection across industry segments. The jury for these prestigious awards consisted of eminent academicians, consultants and experts with established credentials in the field of IPR from India.

TCS has been a leader in developing intellectual property (IP), and holds a US patent for managing a sustainable intellectual property portfolio. Its large IP portfolio is managed using an in-house developed integrated IP rights management system. TCS’ award-winning patents portfolio is designed to provide intelligence on the technology direction in the market, and insights to focus on a priority set of areas for research, innovation and IP creation. In the last 5 years, TCS filed more than 2700 patent applications, and has been granted 550 patents.
