Winners of the TCS iON IntelliGem Contest Demonstrate Outstanding 21st Century Skills

Tata Consultancy Services’ Annual Contest for Students of Class 5 to 9, Saw 10 Winners Emerge Out of the 50 Finalists

Mumbai, January 26, 2020: TCS iON, a strategic unit of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) (BSE: 532540, NSE: TCS), a leading global IT services, consulting and business solutions organization, announced the winners of the second edition of TCS iON IntelliGem, at the finale held in Mumbai.

TCS iON IntelliGem is structured as a contest, which helps young learners develop an understanding and appreciation of 21^st century skills in five categories — creativity and innovation, communication, financial literacy, universal values, and global citizenship. This year, more than 10,000 of the brightest students of class 5 to 9 across 396 schools from 110 cities in 23 states, participated in the contest. The top 50 students who successfully cleared the qualifying rounds of proctored digital tests in their respective schools, the city rounds, and the phygital one-on-one interactions in the pre-finals, made it to the finale, where they battled it out for the national title in their respective categories. The winning students and their schools received exciting rewards including cool gadgets, cash prizes, trophies, and certificates.

TCS iON also conducted its national survey on new-age learning interventions, at the event. The survey saw students suggesting various methods, such as hands-on training modules, community-based workshops, student exchange programs and virtual learning platforms. The overarching conclusion of the survey was that students feel the need for an education system that encourages questioning and provides alternate learning methods and personalized learning experiences.
