Tata Mumbai Marathon 2023
On January 15, 2023, ambitions soared high as thousands of fitness enthusiasts ran to cross the finish line in India’s city of dreams, Mumbai. Over the past 18 years, the Mumbai Marathon has been a launchpad for several Indian long- and middle-distance runners. It has opened up new avenues for sports sponsorships and created an ecosystem around distance running. We captured a few inspiring stories of runners from Mumbai during this exclusive #OneTCS event. TCS is the proud sponsor of the Tata Mumbai Marathon, Asia’s largest running event. Powered by TCS, the official Tata Mumbai Marathon app was downloaded 24,386 times in the 2020 edition. This year, the app took the marathon a notch higher, with features such as runner tracking, leader board, live location, and more. It let runners share their bib details, allowing friends and family to track their progress. One could also experience virtual running before race day through the Practice 5k feature.
In the marathon’s 2023 edition, runners could participate in any category—the Full Marathon, Half Marathon, Open 10K, Dream Run, Senior Citizens’ Run, Champions with Disability, or Virtual Run.
While the Tata Mumbai Marathon is a celebration of running, it is also about giving back to the community. This year, the marathon’s charity partner was The Society for the Rehabilitation of Crippled Children. Until now, the event has raised over INR 315.9 crore, helping over 700 NGOs and reaching millions.
