For the greater good
The TCS London Marathon is one of the world’s great showcases for good causes. Every year, tens of thousands of runners take on the famous course to raise money for charity and raise awareness for causes close to their hearts. With so many people running in aid of others, the race generates a feel-good factor that resonates across the city and around the world. It’s one of the reasons the TCS London Marathon has become the world’s biggest fundraising event — with more than £1.3 billion banked for good causes.
Team TCS Teachers
Teachers do a great job of encouraging young people to be healthier and more active. The Team TCS Teachers program came to London for the first time in 2023, and in 2024, we were thrilled to support 15 inspirational teachers, putting them on the start line and giving them a platform to amplify their efforts to help young people of all abilities lead more active and healthier lives. Each of the 15 teachers also advocated for TCS’ program of STEM education in schools. As we head deeper into the digital age, science, technology, and maths skills will be crucial to helping the next generation build successful careers.

TCS Mini London Marathon
Entry to the TCS Mini London Marathon is free, and the event is a great way to help children develop good, active habits for a fit and healthy life from a young age. Whether one mile or 2.6km, every child will cross the iconic London Marathon finish line in front of Buckingham Palace! For every child that completes the in-person course as an official participant on race day (Saturday 26th April), TCS will donate £10 to their school to fund sports and IT equipment. In 2023, TCS donated over £82,570 and in 2024, over £129,000. This year, we’re targeting 18,000 runners.
A greener race
Everyone involved in organizing the TCS London Marathon is committed to making the event as sustainable as possible. And we know our participants share our passion for being greener. London Marathon Events, the organizers, have set the ambitious target of net zero emissions by 2030. TCS partnered with the Council for Responsible Sport (CRS) to help event organizers meet climate-responsible standards. Since 2023, London Marathon Events (LME) has been using the ReScore app developed by TCS for the Council for Responsible Sport (CRS) to measure the environmental impact and social benefits of the TCS London Marathon and garner data on their sustainability footprint.
The 2023 TCS London Marathon is the first major event in the UK to be awarded Gold certification by the world’s leading sustainability certification program dedicated to sports events and organizations.
