Start your journey to net zero
We believe to reach net zero, there’s zero time to waste. That is why TCS and Macquarie University have joined forces to launch the TCS GoZero Hub.
To reach net zero, there’s zero time to waste
What if, by the time the world truly understands the gravity of the emissions problem, it’s already too late for a solution? We must do more than merely measure the problem—we must start solving it. Because to reach net zero, there’s zero time to waste.
That’s why Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and Macquarie University have joined forces to meld expert knowledge and industry innovation, creating a partnership that informs and empowers organisations to reach their net zero goals. We do this by working within the unique challenges organisations face to create a tailored approach that converts insight into action.
Reaching a sustainable future, sooner.
We believe in challenging the hum of awareness and inaction by enabling organisations to deliver resounding, real-world impact.
Research informs action. Action solves problems.
To achieve lasting change, we have pooled our resources to create a leading hub in the region for research, innovation, education, consultancy, and solutions for a zero-carbon and nature-positive future. Our partnership, combining academia (Macquarie University) and industry (TCS), will bring together cutting-edge technology and innovative practices to guide society, business, industry, and governments towards making the best use of emerging discoveries and innovations.

Carbon generation & management
The overwhelming data about the consequences of our carbon dependency can be as suffocating to action as it is to the planet. That’s where the TCS GoZero Hub comes in. Our expertise lies in three fields—calculation, capture and control. We start with measuring and reporting greenhouse gas emissions and use robust, transparent data to inform tailored capture and management solutions for diverse sectors, including energy, utilities, travel, transport, retail, agriculture, and waste.
Research-led solutions
1. Carbon management strategies in partnership with government and industry.
2. Reducing carbon across industries, capturing carbon in land and water ecosystems (like blue carbon), creating carbon pricing, and trading plans, and ensuring accurate carbon accounting.
3. Adopting low-carbon technologies to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in various sectors.
4. Delivering evidence-based carbon management advice to influence policy and decision-making at local, national, and global levels.
5. Providing education services to train and empower the next generation of leaders and practitioners to tackle the complexities of carbon management in the journey to net zero.
Nature positive future
There is no one more capable of restoring nature, than nature itself. The TCS GoZero Hub promotes the conservation, restoration, and enhancement of natural systems to benefit the planet and all life on it.
Research-led solutions
1. Employing scientific, evidence-led solutions for conservation and restoration efforts.
2. Advancing ecological sustainability via financial mechanisms and behavioural nudges, as well through law and policy.
3. Expertise in assessing biodiversity, valuing ecosystem services and natural capital, and designing nature-based solutions and green infrastructure.
4. Supporting biodiversity resilience and recovery, ecosystem services provision and the shift toward a profitable and globally competitive nature-positive economy.
5. Facilitating environmental justice, governance, and promoting Indigenous knowledge and biocultural diversity.
Circular economy and sustainable waste management
TCS GoZero Hub is keenly focused on advancing the knowledge and practice of circular design and innovation, particularly the circular economy, sustainable waste management and green finance. We are working on smarter, more eco-friendly ideas such as redeploying naturally occurring genetic mechanisms to break down plastics, turning organic waste into valuable commodities, and designing sustainable recycling technology that’s easier on the planet. With the right amount of innovation, benefitting the planet can also bring great benefits to us.
Research-led solutions
1. Providing expert advice and fit-for-purpose solutions for the circular economy and sustainable waste management.
2. Collaborating and innovating with key researchers, industry partners and policymakers.
3. Developing solutions for material recovery and resource efficiency.
4. Leading innovations in biomanufacturing, synthetic biology and bioremediation.
5. Empowering leaders to align their operations with global standards and government policy in line with our research and strategies.
Climate adaptation and resilience
As the climate heats up, how do we keep our cool? We work on climate projects, predicting patterns and studying how they impact natural and human systems such as water resources, agriculture, other commodities, health, infrastructure, trade, and livelihoods. The TCS GoZero Hub also develops and assesses strategies, policies and actions that promote the implementation of solutions for climate adaptation and resilience.
Research-led solutions
1. Researching future climate scenarios and the impacts of climate change.
2. Assisting partners to develop and implement effective adaptation and resilience strategies and actions, including urban design and planning, green and blue infrastructure, and smart technologies like IoT and AI.
3. Providing expert assessment of climate risks and vulnerabilities.
4. Evaluating adaptation and resilience interventions and indicators.
5. Offering professional and community learning and participation in climate adaptation and resilience solutions to protect human lives, livelihoods, health, well-being, natural ecosystems, and biodiversity.
Taking action as we strive for a sustainable future is something we’re extremely passionate about at TCS. I’m proud and excited to launch the TCS GoZero hub, in partnership with Macquarie University. It’s a hub of research, innovation and solutions that enable informed decision making as we move towards a net zero carbon future.
