About TCS Fresher Hiring for Engineering candidates from the batch of 2024
It is time to make the big move of your career with TCS National Qualifier Test (TCS NQT).
TCS NQT follows an Integrated Test Pattern for Prime, Digital and Ninja fresher hiring at TCS. Candidates need to appear for a single test and based on the test performance, they will qualify for Prime, Digital or Ninja interviews.
TCS NQT is exclusively open for graduating batch of 2024 with the following academic degrees: Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) / Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) / Master of Technology (M.Tech.) / Master of Engineering (M.E.) / Master of Computer Applications (M.C.A.) / Master of Science (M.Sc. / M.S.) in any specialization offered by AICTE / UGC recognized universities / colleges.
Application Process:
Step 1. Logon to the TCS NextStep Portal here
Step 2. Register and Apply for the Drive
Step 3. Select your mode of test (In-Centre) and choose your preferred test centre & then click on Apply.
Step 4. To confirm your status, check "Track Your Application". The status should reflect as "Applied for Drive".

Q1: Which year of passing (YoP) is being considered for the TCS Freshers Hiring Process through the TCS NQT?
Candidates graduating in the year 2024 with the following academic degrees: Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) / Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) / Master of Technology (M.Tech.) / Master of Engineering (M.E.) / Master of Computer Applications (M.C.A.) / Master of Science (M.Sc. / M.S.) in any specialization offered by AICTE / UGC recognized universities / colleges would be considered.
Q2: When is the last date to register?
A2: The last date to register is Thursday, April 25th 2024.
Q3: When is the test scheduled?
A3: The test is scheduled from Friday, April 26th 2024 onwards.
Q4: What is the TCS NQT Integrated Test Pattern?
A4: TCS NQT is an integrated test of 190 minutes duration consisting of two mandatory sections:
Part A: Foundation (Duration of 75 minutes, with sections on Numerical Ability, Verbal Ability and Reasoning Ability).
Part B: Advanced (Duration of 115 minutes, with sections on Advanced Quantitative and Reasoning, and Advanced Coding ability).
Q5: Do I need to create my profile under 'BPS' or 'IT'?
A5: You are requested to create your profile under 'IT'.
Q6: What would be the mode of the test?
A6: The test will be conducted in an in-center mode. Candidate would be required to visit the allotted TCS iON Centers to appear for the in-person test.
Q7: Where would the test be conducted?
A7: TCS NQT would be an in-center test. While submitting the application form, click on "Apply For Drive, to choose your preferred test center.
Please note: No further changes would be permitted once the above selection is done.
Q8: My NextStep account is locked. How can I unlock it?
A8: Please note that after 3 unsuccessful OTP attempts, your account will be locked for 4 hours. You will get 2 more OTP attempts after 4 hours, however if still wrong OTP inputs are given, your account will be locked in for the day. You will get the next login attempt with OTP post the date change (i.e., next day). Hence, we request you to be careful with your login ID and OTP.
Request you to use a Desktop/Laptop. Please clear the cache, history and cookies and use the latest version of Internet Explorer/Google Chrome.
Q9: Is 'Apply For Drive' mandatory?
A9: Yes, it is mandatory. If you do not click on 'Apply For Drive', you will not be considered for TCS Fresher Hiring Process through the TCS NQT.
Q10: I am not getting the 'Apply for Drive' option, what should I do?
A10: Once you fill the application form, logout and login again.
Then click on ‘Apply for Drive.’
If you are not getting the ‘Apply for Drive’ option, please re-check the below steps:
a) Confirm whether you have completed or submitted your application form.
b) Check if you have erroneously registered under ‘BPS’ instead of ‘IT.’ If yes, then write to tcsbps.support@tcs.com for the deletion of your profile under BPS. Once your profile has been deleted, please create a new profile under IT.
c) Recheck the qualification you have entered on application form
d) Check the Year of Passing you have entered in application form.
The 'Apply For Drive' option will be enabled only for eligible candidates from the graduating batch of 2024, with highest qualification as Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) / Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) / Master of Technology (M.Tech.) / Master of Engineering (M.E.) / Master of Computer Applications (M.C.A.) / Master of Science (M.Sc. / M.S.).
Q11: I have applied for the drive but have not got a confirmation e-mail, what should I do?
A11: Post applying for the drive, the status will reflect as 'Applied for Drive' in your 'Track My Application'. You will not get an acknowledgment mail or confirmation mail about the same.
Q12: My college has CGPA grading system. However, in my application form, there is only one option to update my marks. What should I do?
A12: Please convert CGPA into percentage, fill in the application form and click on 'Apply for Drive'.
Example: To understand the calculation of percentage in a better way, let us take an example, a candidate has secured 7.2 CGPA

Q13: What if I already have a CT / DT reference number? Do I need to register again?
A13: No, you do not need to register again as long as your details such as, your highest qualification and year of passing are mentioned correctly. If not, proceed to make the required changes in the form before you 'Apply for Drive'.
Q14: I have forgotten my CT / DT Reference ID. Where do I get it?
A14: You would have got an email from recruitment.entrylevel@tcs.com upon successful registration. The Reference ID would be mentioned in the same. For further queries, you can write to ilp.support@tcs.com.
Q15: Can I make changes to my profile as I have made some mistakes?
A15: Yes, but the changes are restricted to certain fields only. Hence, we request you to fill the application form carefully.
Q16: Can I change my photo in the application form?
A16: Yes, you can change your photograph before you apply for drive. Request you to carefully follow the instructions while uploading your photograph. Ensure that your recent photograph is being uploaded in system.
Q17: I have incorrectly created my profile under 'BPS'. What should I do now?
A17: Please write to tcsbps.support@tcs.com for the deletion of your profile under BPS. Once your profile has been deleted, please create a new profile under IT.
Q18: I already have my CT / DT number. I need to update my marks / CGPA in my application form. How can I do so?
A18: You can edit the details by clicking ‘Edit Application Form’ and updating the required details. You can make changes before you apply for the drive.
Q19: I am not able to edit the Full-time / Part-time course in my Application Form. What should I do?
A19: If you are not able to edit the Full-time / Part-time course in the Application Form, you have to send a mail to ilp.support@tcs.com for deletion of your profile, post which you can create a new profile with the same email ID.
Q20: I have created 2 profiles. What should I do now?
A20: Only 1 profile is permitted per candidate. Duplicate profile creation will lead to disqualification of the candidate from TCS Fresher Hiring Process. Please write to ilp.support@tcs.com for the deletion of your duplicate profile.
Q21: How will I know about my test schedule / test related information?
A21: Information related to test will be communicated by our test partner - TCS iON (email ID - careers.tcshub@mail.digialm.com).
Q22: How will we get the results of the test?
A22: Shortlisted candidates will receive further communication on the next steps on their registered email IDs from TCS Talent Acquisition Team.
Q23: What documents are required for the TCS selection process?
A23: You must have all your X, XII, Diploma (if applicable), UG and PG (if applicable) academic marksheets, semester and degree certificates. Original documents will be verified at the time of interview as well as joining.
Q24: What documents are required if I have work experience?
A24: If you are a candidate with work experience, you have to provide experience related documents from all the previous organization/s such as Experience Letter or Release Letter or documents wherein date of joining (DOJ) and date of release are clearly mentioned.
