SYDNEY, April 15, 2023: Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) (BSE: 532540, NSE: TCS) announced that it has extended its partnership with the Canberra Times Marathon Festival (CTMF), consolidating the company’s role as the Presenting and Official App Partner until 2026.
Since the start of the partnership in 2018, TCS has leveraged its expertise in technology to develop the official race app used by participants and supporters. The race app enhances the running experience by allowing participants to map the course and track their performance with real-time data and features and interactive map and pop-up windows to raise awareness of the local indigenous history by detailing 14 places of historical significance for the Ngunawal people across the event’s 42km course.
Vikram Singh, Country Head, TCS Australia & New Zealand, said, “We are pleased to extend our partnership with CTMF, and look to continue to inspire local communities to live healthy and active lifestyles. Running a marathon makes you feel like there’s nothing you can’t achieve. With each step, you are building on belief. That is exactly how the most successful enterprises execute on their growth and transformation journeys. As the preferred technology partner to leading Australian corporations, TCS keeps looking for innovative ways to leverage next-generation technologies to help them accelerate these journeys and while we are at it, support local communities and establish a strong Connection to Country.”
“Technology already has a central role to play in physical activity and partners like TCS are crucial in making our vision of inspiring activity a reality,” said Lisa Holmes, Chief Executive Officer, Sole Motive. “Since 2018, TCS has helped us transform our runners’ experience through technological advancements, while also providing tremendous support of our community programs. TCS and SoleMotive have shared core values, commitment to service, and passion for innovation, and I can’t wait to see what we co-create in our next chapter together.”
As an evolution of its Run for Reconciliation initiative launched last year, TCS will continue to encourage First Nations runners as part of its ongoing partnership with the Indigenous Marathon Foundation (IMF). TCS will sponsor over 70 IMF runners from Communities across Indigenous Australia to participate in leading marathons around the world including CTMF, City2Surf, TCS London and New York marathons.
The Canberra Times Marathon Festival will take place on Sunday, 16 April 2023. For more information, download the official CTMF app powered by TCS here:
