Gold Stevie® for Corporate Social Responsibility Program of the Year, Silver Stevie® for HR Department of the Year
NEW YORK | MUMBAI, June 24, 2014: Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), (BSE: 532540, NSE: TCS), a leading IT services, consulting and business solutions organization, today announced it won two Stevie® Awards at the 12th Annual American Business Awards, the nation’s premier business awards program. TCS was recognized with a Gold Stevie® Award for Corporate Social Responsibility Program of the Year and a Silver Stevie® Award for HR Department of the Year at a reception held at the Fairmont Chicago Millennium Park Hotel on June 13.
The American Business Awards, nicknamed the ‘Stevies’ for the Greek word ‘crowned,’ recognizes organizations for their contributions to society in the United States. Awards were given across a variety of categories and industries, with more than 3,300 nominees evaluated by 240 global executives.
“We are honored to be recognized with a Gold and Silver Stevie® at this year’s American Business Awards,” said Surya Kant, President, North America, UK & Europe, TCS. “TCS is deeply committed to supporting the local communities where it works and lives, exemplified by the passionate involvement of our employee volunteers in bridging the U.S. STEM skills gap and supporting health and fitness with our New York Road Runners partnership and TCS New York City Marathon title sponsorship. And our HR department deserves credit for its tireless work in fostering a positive and inspiring culture, from recruitment and professional development to driving corporate philanthropy and employee morale, all of which has played a critical role in TCS’ continued rapid growth in North America.”
“It’s an honor for us to recognize and celebrate such an outstanding class of organizations and individuals,” said Michael Gallagher, president and founder of Stevie® Awards, Inc. “The judges were especially discerning this year and all of the Gold, Silver and Bronze winners should be proud that the judges recognized their achievements and their ability to express those achievements in a way that captured the judges’ hearts and imaginations.”
The key contributor to TCS winning a Gold Stevie® for CSR was its steadfast commitment to the advancement of STEM education in the United States. Through national level partnerships and programs, TCS is leveraging its thought leadership, technology and skills of employee volunteers to advance STEM education. TCS’ STEM programming includes its flagship goIT student technology awareness program and its partnerships with STEMconnector, Million Women Mentors, US2020 and NPower. These initiatives are designed to put students on a path to professional success in STEM industries and help to elevate North America’s ability to compete in the global digital economy.
TCS’ North American HR department received a Silver Stevie® Award for its broader scale efforts in employee volunteerism, philanthropy, increased employee satisfaction and an ongoing corporate commitment to employee recognition and professional development. The HR department also played a critical role in supporting the company’s rapid business growth in the region through the recruitment, onboarding, cultural integration, incentivizing and grooming of employee talent. Moreover, it drove successful initiatives such as its Maitree ‘friendship’ program, which brings together employees and families through a variety of local community events and Fit4Life, which encourages employees to get active by making a contribution to charity for every unit of exercise logged.
The 2014 American Business Awards were presented on Friday, June 13 at the Fairmont Chicago Millennium Park Hotel with more than 400 nominees and their guests in attendance. For more information on TCS’s commitment to its employees and to corporate responsibility, please visit here.
