TCS Honored by Lumity as the 2014 Community Corps Corporate Champion

Company Recognized for Deep Commitment to Enhancing Quality of STEM Education

TCS was recognized for its myriad programs to improve the quality and accessibility of STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) education in North America, and its multi-year partnership with Lumity in support of the organization’s goals.

The 2014 Community Corps Corporate Champion award from Lumity saluted TCS’ broader North America STEM educational efforts – which range from the classroom to the boardroom. For example, TCS’ goIT Student Technology program, a multi-tiered initiative engaging students, teachers, parents, universities, and local government, with the goal of increasing student excitement and participation in technology related careers. Since 2009, goIT has influenced more than 7,000 students across 35 school districts, and this year it is reaching schools and students across 10 cities in the U.S. and Toronto, Canada.

Lumity also cited TCS as a Founding Leadership Partner for US2020 and STEMconnector®’s Million Women Mentors (https://mwm.stemconnector.com), in leading the development of the online platforms for both these national initiatives and supporting the engagement of more than two million corporate volunteers as mentors over the next decade.
