Mumbai, August 18, 2011: Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), (BSE: 523540, NSE: TCS), a leading IT services, consulting and business solutions firm, was recently ranked as the number one service provider across the entire Nordic region on key performance indicators (KPIs) surveyed in KPMG / EquaTerra’s Nordic Region Service Provider Performance & Satisfaction Study 2011. This is TCS’ second concurrent year in the top position.
TCS had consistently high industry scores on all major KPIs including Customer Satisfaction, Recommendation, Quality, Flexibility, Innovation, Relationship Management (Strategic), Risk and Transition Management and Governance. The company was ranked number one for general satisfaction in the Nordic region, attaining a general satisfaction rate of 79 percent (significantly above the average industry satisfaction rate of 69 percent).
The independent report is an annual vendor performance survey completed by CIOs and CXOs representing the top 300 Nordic companies in terms of their IT expenditure and ranking 23 leading service providers in the region on the basis of client feedback. “Along with achieving market-leading project results, we have been strengthening partnerships with our clients by advising them strategically on both business and technology challenges, in order to help them maintain leadership positions in their own industries. This survey clearly shows that these capabilities are highly valued among our clients. This year’s report is broader and deeper than ever before, and quality is emerging as the primary criteria in making IT partner decisions,” said Amit Bajaj, Director of the Nordic and Baltic region, TCS.
When asked how likely they are to recommend vendors to their peers, respondents ranked TCS joint first in the Nordic region (86 percent on the recommendation index versus the industry average of 70 percent), demonstrating the company’s ability to bring “certainty” to its clients by delivering business results, providing leadership to drive transformation and partnering for success.
“This is the second year in succession that Tata Consultancy Services has achieved a very strong performance. The company is again number one in Nordic customer satisfaction and achieved above-average results in every single KPI. The result is impressive since the Nordic IT market is under constant demand and pressure, from both clients and new vendors entering the market,” said Jef Loos, Director at EquaTerra / KPMG.

An important IT survey on trends and satisfaction based on perception from end-user clients
The report is focused on more than 300 of the top IT spending companies in all sectors in the Nordic region. In order to be ranked in the report, service providers must meet two criteria: minimum eight client evaluations and the client base evaluated per service provider must represent a minimum annual contract value of one million USD. Total confidentiality is guaranteed for participants and the data is collected via a web-based survey. Most participants are CIO, CFO, CXO or immediate direct reports with decision-making responsibility.
