MUMBAI, February 20, 2019: Tata Consultancy Services (BSE: 532540, NSE: TCS), a leading global IT services, consulting and business solutions organization, has been recognized as a Global Top Employer for the fourth consecutive year by the Top Employers Institute, and is the only company among the top 10 IT services brands to receive the certification.
TCS was recognized for its exceptional workplace policies, culture and continued investments in its 417,000 employees across the world. In addition to the global ranking, TCS has been certified as the Number One Top Employer in four regions – North America, Europe, Asia Pacific, and the Middle East – and as a Top Employer in 29 individual countries. Moreover, TCS is now ranked as the Number One Top Employer in 16 countries: Australia, Belgium, Canada, Ecuador, Germany, Hong Kong SAR, India, Malaysia, Netherlands, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Sweden, Switzerland, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, and the United States.
“TCS is guiding many of the world’s leading brands through their Business 4.0™ transformation journeys, and at the core of this success is our talented global workforce,” said Ajoy Mukherjee, Executive Vice President and Global Head, Human Resources, TCS. “We have heavily invested in a culture of continual learning and career advancement for all employees. So far, we have re-skilled and up-skilled 292,000 employees in the latest digital technologies.”
The Top Employer certification is a recognition of TCS’ progressive workplace policies and practices focused on attracting and constantly up-skilling the best local talent to build a global, diverse workforce. Around the world, TCS aims to provide a stimulating working environment that is flexible, nurtures social contract, fosters innovation, and builds a result-oriented, high-performance culture.
TCS’ empowered and engaged workforce has significantly contributed to its wider market success. In 2019, TCS was again ranked as one of the top three global IT services brands and named as the fastest growing IT services brand of the decade by Brand Finance, the world’s leading brand valuation firm. In addition to its industry-leading financial performance, TCS’ outstanding service delivery quality has consistently resulted in its rating as the Number One in customer satisfaction in Europe through independent surveys conducted by Whitelane Research.
Beyond the Top Employer certifications, TCS has received significant recognition as a global employer of choice. Most recently, TCS won six Stevies® at the 2018 American Business Awards, was named the Best Company for Diversity and Inclusion at the UK Women in Technology and Data Awards, and was ranked second among 45 global companies at the Association for Talent Development 2018 BEST Award. Moreover, TCS is a leading proponent of STEM education for current and future global workforces. For example, it is the lead partner to the World Economic Forum in its critical Closing the Skills Gap initiative, which has already secured 17.2 million commitments from global companies to train people with the latest technical and digital skills needed to participate in the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
“Investment in the workforce is becoming more commonplace among the most successful companies around the globe, and we’ve seen some important examples of employee learning and development initiatives,” added David Plink, CEO, Top Employers Institute. “Once again, we’re proud to certify Tata Consultancy Services as one of the coveted Global Top Employers for its deep dedication to the advancement and experience of its people.”
The Top Employers Institute is an independent HR organization that has been recognizing excellence in people practices and employee conditions for more than 25 years. The Top Employer rankings are finalized following in-depth research into 600 HR practices across 10 key criteria: Talent Strategy, Workforce Planning, Talent Acquisition, On-boarding, Learning & Development, Performance Management, Leadership Development, Career & Succession Management, Compensation & Benefits, and Company Culture.
