Q4: What is the TCS NQT Integrated Test Pattern?
A4: TCS NQT is an integrated test of 190 minutes duration consisting of two mandatory sections:
Part A: Foundation (Duration of 75 minutes, with sections on Numerical Ability, Verbal Ability and Reasoning Ability).
Part B: Advanced (Duration of 115 minutes, with sections on Advanced Quantitative and Reasoning, and Advanced Coding ability).
Q5: Do I need to create my profile under 'BPS' or 'IT'?
A5: You are requested to create your profile under 'IT'.
Q6: What would be the mode of the test?
A6: The test will be conducted in an in-center mode. Candidates would be required to visit the allotted TCS iON Centers to appear for the in-person test.
Q7: My NextStep account is locked. How can I unlock it?
A7: Please note that after 3 unsuccessful OTP attempts, your account will be locked for 4 hours. You will get 2 more OTP attempts after 4 hours, however if incorrect OTP inputs are given, you will be locked out of your account for the day. You will get the next login attempt with OTP post the date change (i.e., next day). Hence, we request you to be careful with your login ID and OTP.
You are requested to use a desktop/laptop. Please clear the cache, history, and cookies and use the latest version of Internet Explorer/Google Chrome.
Q8: Is 'Apply For Drive' mandatory?
A8: Yes, it is mandatory. If you do not click on 'Apply For Drive', you will not be considered for TCS NQT entry level hiring process.
Q9: I am not getting the 'Apply for Drive' option, what should I do?
A9: Once you fill in the application form, log out and log in again.
Then click on ‘Apply for Drive.’
If you are not getting the ‘Apply for Drive’ option, please re-check the steps mentioned below:
a) Confirm whether you have completed and submitted your application form.
b) Check if you have erroneously registered under ‘BPS’ instead of ‘IT.’ If yes, then write to tcsbps.support@tcs.com for the deletion of your profile under BPS. Once your profile has been deleted, please create a new profile under IT.
c) Recheck the qualifications you have entered in the application form
d) Check the Year of Passing you have entered in the application form.
The 'Apply For Drive' option will be enabled only for eligible candidates from the batch of 2025, with highest qualification as : Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.)/Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.)/Master of Technology (M.Tech.)/Master of Engineering (M.E.)/Master of Computer Applications (M.C.A.)/Master of Science (M.Sc./M.S.)
Q10: I have applied for the drive but have not got a confirmation e-mail, what should I do?
A10: After applying for the drive, your application status will reflect as 'Applied for Drive'. You will not get further acknowledgment or confirmation mail.
Q11: My college has a CGPA grading system. However, in my application form, there is only one option to update my marks. What should I do?
A11: Please convert CGPA into percentage, fill in the application form and click on 'Apply for Drive'.
Example: To understand the calculation of percentage in a better way, let us take an example. Let us consider a candidate has secured 7.2 CGPA

Q12: What if I already have a CT/DT reference number? Do I need to register again?
A12: No, you need not register again as long as your details are mentioned correctly.
Q13: I have forgotten my CT/DT Reference ID. Where do I get it?
A13: You would have gotten an email from recruitment.entrylevel@tcs.com upon successful registration. The Reference ID would be mentioned in the same. For further queries, you can write to ilp.support@tcs.com.
Q14: Can I make changes to my profile as I have made some mistakes?
A14: Yes, but the changes are restricted to limited fields only. Hence, we request you to fill in the application form carefully on the first attempt itself.
Q15: Can I change my photo in the application form?
A15: Yes, you can change your photograph before you ‘Apply For Drive’. You are requested to carefully follow the below instructions while uploading your photograph-
- Maximum file size of 200 KB.
- Allowed File Type: JPG, JPEG.
- Photo should be in formal attire with white background.
- Avoid white clothes with white background.
- Face and shoulder should be clearly visible.
- Both the ears must be clearly visible.
- Body pose should be appropriate.
- Do not upload selfies or informal photos.
- Photo should be of good resolution.
Q16: I have incorrectly created my profile under 'BPS'. What should I do now?
A16: Please write to tcsbps.support@tcs.com for the deletion of your profile under BPS. Once your profile has been deleted, please create a new profile under IT.
Q17: I already have my CT/DT number. I need to update my marks/CGPA in my application form. How can I do so?
A17: You can edit the details by clicking ‘Edit Application Form’ and updating the required details. You can make changes before you apply for the drive.
Q18: I am not able to edit the Full-time/Part-time course in my Application Form. What should I do?
A18: If you are not able to edit the Full-time/Part-time course in the Application Form, you may have to send an email to ilp.support@tcs.com for deletion of your profile, post which you can create a new profile with the same email ID.
Q19: How will I know about my test schedule/test related information?
A19: Information related to test will be communicated by our test partner - TCS iON (email ID - careers.tcshub@mail.digialm.com).
Q20: How will we get the results of the test?
A20: Shortlisted candidates will receive further communication on the next steps to their registered email ID.
Q21: What documents are required for the TCS selection process?
A21: You must have all your X, XII, Diploma (if applicable), UG, and PG (if applicable) academic marksheets till the latest semester and degree certificates. Original documents will be verified at the time of interview as well as joining.
Q22: What documents are required if I have work experience?
A22: If you are a candidate with work experience, you must provide experience related documents from all the previous organization/s such as Experience Letter or Relieving Letter or documents wherein date of joining (DOJ) and Last Working Date (LWD) are clearly mentioned.
