A mobile app-based platform has enabled Gjensidige, a leading Nordics insurer, to accelerate its journey toward becoming an end-to-end mobility provider for its customers.
Gjensidige is a leading general insurance company in the Nordics with a strong focus on customer-orientation and innovation. As a strategic partner since 2020, TCS has been involved in Gjensidige’s digital-led growth and transformation initiatives.
Gjensidige wanted to develop a mobile app-based platform to cater to the end-to-end mobility needs of customers in Norway and make car usage simpler and smoother. This would allow the insurer stay aligned with the changing behavior of digital-savvy customers toward buying and using various mobility options. It would also help the company embrace evolving ecosystems with ease and redefine business models, thereby gaining a competitive edge.
Ivar Helmich, COO-Mobility, Gjensidige, talks about how the company worked with TCS to build an application that puts the vast ecosystem for car users on a single digital dashboard. The platform digitalizes and provides an integrated solution for different customer journeys of car usage—from keeping track of car information, toll road passings to discounts on insurance and tires. It also enables users to raise a request for roadside assistance. The solution enables integration with multiple partners, including public databases and identity providers for smooth customer journey.
Per Engelstad, senior business developer, Gjensidige, says the application not only ensures faster time to market but also provides a flexible and scalable cloud-based platform for future growth needs.
TCS brought its domain knowledge, innovation ecosystem, and technology know-how to drive the program. TCS was involved from ideation to implementation of the mobility platform, putting in place a tech infrastructure that will be able to scale and incrementally add new services and partners.
With the new platform, Gjensidige has a solid foundation for strengthening its prominent position in the mobility space in Norway, while achieving its mission of doing good for the community.
