UK Power Networks wanted to automate and centralize its data management processes.
The client needed to update its siloed and outdated on-premise legacy platform to make data more consistent and prevent any lags in the delivery of services.
The client was facing challenges in proper integration and centralization of data due to its outdated Capital Project control and reporting framework.
The inaccessibility of site-level and project-level information also slowed down the approval for projects, leading to user dissatisfaction, increasing organizational costs and stretched timelines. Further, manual data manipulation and data discrepancies posed challenges in cost and program forecasting.
TCS’ cloud migration solution helped modernize UK Power Networks’ on-premise legacy platform by implementing a comprehensive project and program control solution in Oracle Primavera Cloud and Unifier along with integration with SAP.
TCS leveraged its in-house Java-platform Converge tool to help perform one of the largest P6 migrations that involved the migration of more than one TB volume of data. TCS also deployed business intelligence analytics through Oracle Business Intelligence application to establish near real-time and adaptive reporting solution for the client. By providing an analytics forum with the platform, TCS helped the client automate the process of adding data, thereby eliminating the need for manual data manipulation, and improving the flow of data compared to the previous one-week lag.
TCS helped the client migrate more than 1 TB volume of data to Oracle Primavera and reduce the cycle time from seven to three days.
TCS leveraged analytics to provide a real-time reporting solution to enhance the operational efficiency of the CPP business. By optimizing work and reducing the overall project cost, TCS helped the client achieve business agility and efficiency.
